A Winter Wonderland ... in central Virginia ... all before Christmas!

So, my very generous husband recently blessed me with an absolutely amazing new camera and lens... the Nikon D700 and the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G lens. It is just incredible in its capability! I have so much yet to learn, but with time and lots of practice (and several good photographer friends who I know I can bounce ideas off of), I know I will get there. Or maybe not? I know there will always be something to learn, but that's the beauty of it, right?! I feel blessed to have a camera like this and I really look forward to shooting with it more, especially as the nice weather comes upon us in the spring. I tend to hibernate a little when its below 30 degrees. I did, however, get outside recently to capture some sweet memories of my clan during the 1st snowfall of the season, all before Christmas! We had a blast and so enjoyed Daddy being home with us. As you can see from the photos, Daddy Rob is quite the Daddy ... my boys best friend, indeed, as he is mine! I have so very much to be thankful for at the end of this pretty amazing year we had. Merry Christmas from our family to yours ... or, as my 4 1/2 year old would say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS! He is what the season is all about, Amen?!

Robbie and his little neighbor pal! :)

Daddy's are the best!!

My sweet family of boys, minus baby Sam who was busy taking his 3-hr afternoon siesta

I love this picture - captures his cute little personality!

Thanks to my niece for passing down the great (and warm) snowsuit! :)

Having an absolute ball!

Only my son would want to ride on his swing & push his lawnmower in the snow :)

And, of course, I couldn't forget sweet baby Sam! He was immersed in his 4-hr afternoon siesta during our afternoon of fun. Here he is right before bedtime, in all his sweetness. He's normally full of smiles ... must have been the new camera that made him all serious. He is 1 of the sweetest and most cuddly babies I have ever known. SUCH a blessing!
